E-Newsletter is Coming!

On Thursday (2/23/12) we will switch from using in-game newsletters to newsletters sent from the website. Why you ask? For several reasons:

- There have been far too many problems with the e-mail system. Everything from a user not existing to an inbox being full when it isn’t.
- There are size restrictions to the e-mails.
- Formatting. In-game, there isn’t any.
- Pictures. What’s the fun of having a newsletter without some cool graphics?

Mostly it is because we will be able to newsletters that are both easier to read and more enjoyable.

So the next question is how do you know if you are signed up to receive it or not? The steps are easy.

1. Go to the website – www.stormsurge.us
2. Log in (if you aren’t already logged in).
3. Click on “My Account” on the menu bar under My Stormsurge.
4. Click on “My Preferences” under the Configuration category.
5. Look for the item “Receive Newsletter” (should be the 3rd item down) and select either yes or no.
6. Click “Save Changes”

That’s it. That is how you both subscribe or unsubscribe and you can change those settings at any time. One important note regarding the newsletter. This is a new feature so while we are trying to make it as smooth as possible, there may be a few bumps along the way so just hang in there with us.

We will still use the in-game e-mail system, just not for newsletters.
